Ring Sizing

Expert Tips

Finger size is more variable than most people realise. These six guidelines will ensure you get the most accurate measurement possible before choosing your ring.

01

Dominant Hand First

Begin by measuring the finger on your dominant hand — it tends to be slightly larger than the other and is where most rings are worn.

02

Band Width Matters

Rings with wider bands fit more snugly. If you're measuring an existing ring as reference, ensure it has a similar width to the new piece.

03

Normal Temperature

Finger size fluctuates with temperature — cold fingers measure smaller. Always measure when your finger is at its normal, comfortable warmth.

04

Time of Day

Fingers swell slightly throughout the day. Measure at the end of the day for the most accurate and comfortable fit.

05

Consider the Knuckle

If your knuckle is larger than your finger base, take two measurements and select a size that passes over the knuckle comfortably without being too loose at rest.

06

Standard Reference Sizes

When in doubt: women typically wear sizes 6 to 6.5, men wear sizes 9 to 10. These are a helpful starting point — never a substitute for measuring.

Step by Step

Using Our Sizing Guide

For quick and precise sizing, follow these steps for both ring and bracelet measurements. Printer accuracy is essential — always check scaling before printing.

2

Set Scaling to None

Ensure your printer's page scaling is set to "None" or "Actual Size" — any scaling will distort the measurement.

3

Align Your Ring

Place your existing ring over the size circles until it aligns perfectly with the inside edge of the circle.

4

Confirm the Match

Ensure the reference ring is from the same finger and hand as the intended new ring.

2

Set Scaling to None

Set your printer's page scaling to "None" or "Actual Size" before printing to ensure accuracy.

3

Wrap Around Your Wrist

Gently wrap the printed guide around your wrist to determine your ideal bracelet circumference and size.

4

Choose Your Fit

A bracelet should sit comfortably — not tight. Allow 1–1.5 cm of ease for a classic fit, or 2 cm for a relaxed feel.

Planning a Surprise?

How to Measure
in Secret

Planning a proposal or a surprise gift? These three discreet methods will help you find the right size without giving anything away.

Ask a Trusted Source

Friends or family close to your partner may already know their ring size — or can subtly gather the information without raising suspicion.

Measure While Asleep

Wrap a thin piece of string gently around your partner's ring finger while they sleep. Tie a knot where it meets, then compare it to our ring size guide for the corresponding size.

Use an Existing Ring

If your partner already wears a ring on the intended finger, borrow it briefly. Either bring it to our Antwerp showroom, or use our Ring Sizing Guide PDF to measure it at home.

Jewellery Care

Keeping Your Pieces Radiant

With the right care, a ZIZOV piece will remain as brilliant on your 50th anniversary as it was on the day it arrived. These five guidelines are all you need.

01

Regular Gentle Cleaning

Gently clean your jewellery with a soft, lint-free cloth after each wear to remove skin oils and light dust. For deeper cleaning, use lukewarm water and a drop of mild dish soap, then dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.

02

Proper Storage

Store each piece individually — ideally in the original ZIZOV presentation box or in a soft-lined jewellery case. Prevent pieces from touching each other to avoid scratches and tangling of chains or settings.

03

Avoid Chemicals

Remove all jewellery before swimming, showering, or using cleaning products, perfume, hairspray, or hand cream. Chlorine, bleach, and harsh chemicals can damage gold, loosen prong settings, and dull the brilliance of diamonds.

04

Professional Maintenance

We recommend a professional clean and inspection by our Antwerp team once every 12 to 18 months. This ensures prongs remain secure, pavé stones are intact, and clasps are functioning perfectly. Covered by our 2-year warranty.

05

Regular Self-Inspection

Periodically hold your piece up to the light and check for any loose stones, worn prongs, or damaged clasps. If anything looks out of the ordinary, contact us before wearing the piece further to prevent stone loss.

"A piece well cared for
is a piece that lasts
forever."
